Privacy Policy

Last updated 9 July 2026

This policy explains how Overlane Limited ("Overlane", "we", "us"), a company registered in Jersey, Channel Islands (registered office and company number available on request), handles personal data in connection with our website at overlane.ai and our dealings with you.

Privacy by architecture. Overlane is designed so that your working data does not reach us. Datasets are processed in your browser, or inside a boundary you control, and when the product uses AI it operates on a pseudonymised copy rather than your real values. This policy therefore concerns the limited personal data involved in visiting our website and contacting us, not the contents of the data you prepare with the product.

1. Who is responsible for your data

Overlane is the data controller for the personal data described in this policy. For any privacy question, contact james@overlane.ai.

2. What this policy covers

It covers the overlane.ai marketing website, the interactive product demonstration hosted there, and interactions such as booking a demo or emailing us. Where you self-host Overlane or run it inside your own environment, you are the controller of the data you process, and your own policies apply.

3. Information we collect

Information you give us

When you contact us or request a demo, we process the details you choose to provide, typically your name, email address, employer, and the content of your message.

Information collected automatically

Our website is served as static files. We do not run advertising or third-party analytics trackers, and we do not use tracking cookies. Our hosting provider may process standard technical server logs (such as IP address and request metadata) for security and reliability. See our Cookie Policy for details of the limited local storage the site and product use on your device.

Information that stays on your device

The interactive demo may save your workflow definition in your browser's local storage so your work survives a reload. This stays on your device and is not transmitted to us.

4. How and why we use your data

Our lawful bases under the Data Protection (Jersey) Law 2018 and, where applicable, the UK and EU GDPR are: your consent, our legitimate interests in operating and promoting our business, and compliance with legal obligations.

5. Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with service providers who help us operate, such as our website host and email provider, acting under contract on our instructions, and with professional advisers or authorities where the law requires it.

6. International transfers

Where personal data is transferred outside Jersey, the UK, or the EEA, we rely on an adequacy decision or appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.

7. How long we keep it

We keep enquiry and contact data only as long as needed to deal with your request and for a reasonable period afterwards for our records, then delete or anonymise it.

8. Your rights

Subject to the applicable law, you may request access to your personal data, correction of it, erasure, restriction or objection to processing, and portability, and you may withdraw consent at any time. To exercise any right, email james@overlane.ai. You also have the right to complain to the Jersey Office of the Information Commissioner, or to your local supervisory authority.

9. Security

We apply appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but security is the core principle of both our product and our operations.

10. Children

Our website and product are intended for business users and are not directed at children.

11. Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. We will change the date above when we do, and material changes will be highlighted on this page.
